Tinned Copper In The Cable

Tinned copper refers to copper plated with a thin layer of metallic tin on the surface, such as tinned copper wire, which has certain applications in the cable processing and manufacturing process.

Compared with bare copper wire, tinned copper wire has the following advantages:
1. Tinning the copper wire is mainly to prevent the copper from being exposed to the air and being oxidized to form a layer of patina (chemical formula CU2(OH)2CO3). The conductivity of patina is very poor and will increase resistance. Tinned copper wire can prevent oxidation-reduction reactions and produce patina; it can increase heat dissipation; it can improve conductivity and wire performance.

2. Tinning of copper wire can also prevent the insulation rubber from sticking, the wire core will become black and brittle, and improve its solderability.

Tinned copper wire is mainly used for PVC insulated wires, Silicone Wires, Teflon wires and multi-core cables as conductive cores.
